Story Scan

The story of the film features multiple characters, including Gurmukh Singh, Sadhu Singh, Bani, Sahaj, Gurdial Singh, and Kamal. All these characters appear ungrateful, helpless, and filled with emotions, forgetting their values and worth. Gurmukh Singh takes all of them on a journey from Punjab to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib Ji.

As the journey from Punjab to Nanded Sahib progresses, the characters’ emotional knots unravel and misconceptions gets clear. You will surely find a character in the film that resonates with you and your emotions. The film beautifully weaves together the emotions of several domestic stories into one narrative, something rarely seen in Bollywood or South cinema.

Performance Pitch

Speaking about the performances of the artists in the film, the most surprising portrayal comes from Prince Kanwaljit, who plays the character of Sadhu Singh. His role is much more subdued and different from Prince’s previous characters. Even with minimal dialogue, Prince Kanwaljit has excelled in his acting as Sadhu Singh. Jasmin Bhasin, who plays Bani, a girl living in a village with her grandmother, portrays a character that emotionally resonates deeply with the audience as a girl who feels unfortunate due to her circumstances.

Malkeet Rauni (Gurdial Singh) and Gippy Grewal (Sahaj) have fully embraced their roles as father and son. Additionally, the other characters in the film, including Sardar Sohi, Nirmal Rishi Ji, Gurjant Singh, Surjeet Kaur, and a little girl, have also delivered commendable performances.”

Dialogues & Direction

Gippy Grewal directs the movie, who, in addition to his talents as a singer and actor, demonstrates a strong capability in directing. Each character in the film is given significant attention, ensuring their roles align with the narrative. The editing by Baljit Singh Deo enhances the film’s flow, while Gippy Grewal himself pens the dialogues. Adding depth to these dialogues are the Gurbani verses and their interpretations delivered by Gurmukh Singh, which profoundly resonate with the audience.

Music

The film features an impressive music score and background score. The songs and their lyrics go well in sync with the story, enhancing the overall emotional impact. Happy Raikoti has crafted the lyrics, effectively conveying the film’s sentiments to the audience. The songs propel the narrative forward, with standout tracks including the title song, as well as the romantic numbers ‘Ashke,’ ‘Main Te Oh,’ ‘Tu Malik,’ and ‘Dhi.’ The background music during emotional scenes is particularly effective. However, it should be noted that the background score in the previous film, Ardaas Karan, was even more compelling. Nachhatar Gill performs the title track, while other songs feature vocals from Sukhwinder Singh, Gippy Grewal, Happy Raikoti, and Jordan Sandhu.
